Our customers speak out....

Recently I have been reading headlines that mislead consumers about ACAI. They are simply ads for other products aimed at selling consumers something that is loosely connected. Acai is a Super Food but not as a stand alone diet product.
The Oprah show that highlighted this berry as a superfood explains it best. This berry contains the most individual food components. It has protein, Carbs, fat, in addition to Omega 3 and 6, b vitamins for energy along with an impressive orac value. THAT’S IT. Yes, you could sustain life on this berry if it was the only choice and that what makes it a superfood. You don’t need to supplement many other components for a healthily diet.
Any product with this profile could be used in a diet, fulfill some dietary elements and with the proper exercise program can and will allow you to lose weight. But dieting is a lifestyle choice, eating healthy is suggested, along with moderation and control. This with a comprehensive exercise program will help many people. But there is no magic pill, you will not be able to take some Acai pill, Cleanse your system lose 10 lbs in 48 hours and keep it off without commitment to the lifestyle change. And no doctor will recommend this type of diet.
But Dr Tim’s Acai is a very powerful juice that helps in so many ways it can be and should be part of your diet to get all the good from this one organic berry. So enjoy the beverage, drink it as a juice, add it to other beverage and continue to be health conscience.
What I think is the true Super Drink, is the ISO-5. This really fits such an important part of our lifestyle. A sports drink with nothing added Nothing Artificial, and containing all the essential electrolytes. I love this drink and so do my kids. Keep up the good work.

Have a hangover? ISO-5 to the rescue!

With the Holidays upon us many of us will spend more time socializing at parties. From the office party to the big celebration when we usher in the New Year many will gather and imbibe. For those who may be inclined to include the consumption of alcohol in these celebrations I want to give you a way to combat the negative effects of the dreaded hangover. A hangover is a condition related to dehydration. Alcohol can cause the body to lose 3% more body fluid in a 4-hour period, leading to dehydration even quicker (5). So here are a couple of suggestions; Don’t drink and drive. Drink Dr. Tim’s ISO-5 which has all of the necessary electrolytes and the right carb to protein ratio. It is the most efficient and effective rehydration drink available. It is powered by young coconut water and is all natural without any added sugars. It is delicious with a unique and alluring smooth finish.

Global obesogenic environment

In the December 18, 2008 Newsweek article by Mary Carmichael, she reports on an interview she had with Barry Popkin a professor of global nutrition at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The interview was about the globalization of obesity. She asys “It's not just Americans anymore; the whole world is becoming obese, and we have more than just the advent of cheap cheeseburgers to blame.” She reports on the new book that Popkin has released “The World is Fat”. In his book he attributes the blame on this global crisis on several food items including “sugary drinks”.

He continues “What’s happened is that from 30 years ago to today, we've had an exponential explosion in what we can think of as the "obesogenic environment." You see food available everywhere. You can't move more than 100 feet without seeing a caloric beverage” “In most of the world, it used to be that people mostly drank water, and today they're consuming more and more sweetened beverages”. 22 ounces of a caloric beverage adds an extra 300 calories per day.

This is the prime reason we have developed ISO-5 our all natural Complete Hydration drink. Dr. Tim’s ISO-5 powered by young green coconut water has half the calories of any of the competing sports drinks such as Gatorade. And the sugars that are in ISO-5 are all naturally occurring from the coconut water. That means that there is no high fructose corn syrup unlike competing drinks like Gatorade. ISO-5 is all natural, delicious, rehydrating and contains all 5 necessary electrolytes. It is one of the best answers to this problem of global obesity.

Water, Water Everywhere but...

Is it safe? It turns out that water is everywhere. It covers most of the earth's surface, it's a major component up to 90% of the foods we eat and it is certainly crucial to us as it is in every cell of our bodies. Without it, we die, and relatively fast.

We should all be concerned with the purity of the water we drink. We suggest you carefully investigate the purity of city drinking water and how safely it is delivered to you through city water systems. Many people believe that the water coming out of our taps is pure and safe. In fact, there is no guarantee that it is. Pure drinking water is increasingly hard to find and that fact is made clear when we see how many companies are selling huge quantities of high-priced, ostensibly "'pure" bottled drinking water. Drinking bottled water does not guarantee you are drinking pure water. A recent comprehensive test of several popular bottled waters showed that most are not as pure as they advertise. A number were seriously contaminated. Only two passed the purity test.

There may be many contaminants in our drinking water, pollutants that can be very detrimental to our health. Not only bacterial and viral contaminants are often found in water, but also heavy metals, pesticides, fertilizers, herbicides, excess minerals, chlorine by-products, plastics, fuels, pharmaceuticals, human and animal waste, volatile organic chemicals, radioactive radon gas, dozens of types of parasites and other pollutants are found in many supposedly "pure" water systems. Some contaminants may be picked up in water storage tanks in the delivery system after the city's initial purification process takes place. In our own city, for example, drinking water passes through as many as nine large holding tanks before it is delivered to us.

What can we do to assure that we are drinking truly pure water? Answers: Search for a source of pure water by looking for companies that post-process city water using multi-filtration methods including reverse osmosis, micro-filters, carbon filters and UV germ killing methods to produce their pure water. If you cannot find such water purification companies in your area, consider buying an under-sink, three element water filtration system that will deliver purer water to you from the tap. Take along small bottles your own pure water when eating out. We have noted that most water served in restaurants is heavily laced with chlorine.

Drink 6-8 glasses of purified water per day. If you are more active, you may require more. For the best hydration drinks anywhere, try Brazil Botanical's two, pure water-based drinks: Vitela and ISO-5. Both drinks contain young coconut water as well as pure water. Young coconut water is also an isotonic, natural water, purified by Mother Nature. Isotonic means that it penetrates all human tissues as rapidly as blood plasma does and quickly hydrates human cells.

Dr. Tim also counsels you to avoid all caffeine-laden energy drinks and cola products. Many such drinks are also full of health-damaging sucrose sugar and do a poor job of hydrating our cells. The false sugar and caffeine energy "rush" many of them bring on may arrive fast, but it never lasts long. Stay healthy! Drink pure water!
